May 7, 2026 - Introducing the 15h.org Blog

As of today, 15h.org now has a blog, of which this is the first post! It can be found on the News page at https://15h.org/index.php/News.

Currently, we operate three mostly-disconnected online spaces - this wiki at 15h.org, our Git forge at git.15h.org, and our Matrix room. Of these, the best place to follow news and development has always been the Matrix room - most development work is discussed, planned, developed, and tested collaboratively over Matrix, and new releases, features, or other news are posted there in real-time.

If you're not in the Matrix room, however, following development is more disconnected. Development on the Git forge is done by several people across several branches, and much of the coordination for it is done through Matrix (rather than through Forgejo's built-in discussion features). The wiki aims to provide unified, always-up-to-date documentation - the flipside of this is that pages are created and edited "quietly" as new boards are added or new features are documented.

For coreboot-15h, the release notes for each ROM build provide some documentation of development as it affects that board in particular. However, coreboot-15h itself is effectively rolling-release - we do not currently have a defined release schedule for it, and ROMs get built on a best-effort, board-by-board basis. "Versions" are really just the build dates and commit hashes used for individual ROMs - this is why some "versions" appear to exist only for one board.

The purpose of this page is to resolve this, by allowing news about development to be posted centrally (including for people not following the Matrix room), and to be archived once written (while keeping the rest of the wiki up-to-date). While the Matrix room will likely remain the best place for minor updates (and we continue to encourage everyone interested to join it), we plan to use this page for announcements such as new supported boards or platforms, notable improvements to coreboot or AGESA source, or upcoming community events.

As this blog is new, we intend for our next post to be a "catch-up" overview of development over the last few months. Stay tuned!
