I am a user of several K10 systems, so I came to this Wiki to help out. My account was created on 15 May 2026. I was most active during the first three days, when I made 386 edits.
15h.org Wiki Review and Recommendations (2026/05/19 )
Most important and urgent issues:
- Copyright status for the wiki content
- The page for consents is here: 15h.org talk:Copyrights
- DONE:
Content license: agreed by me and others as CC‑BY‑SA 4.0 (between 18 and 19 May 2026, in the 15h.org Matrix chatroom[1]) - DONE:
The license should be clearly displayed at the page for Content License - DONE:
A link from every Wiki page (at the page bottom) should point to the Content license
- Privacy policy page is empty
- Coreboot distributions list on coreboot org should link to our Wiki
- Apparently, "history" is disabled for non-logged users on the entire Wiki.
- It should be enabled to more easily comply with the CC‑BY‑SA 4.0
- There is a problem with scrapers ... so wee need some kind of CAPTCHA challenge to stop them
Review:
Main problem with the Wiki:
- Many pages that are heavily linked to do not exist, or have insufficiently detailed content.
- Page categories are completely absent, while the website would obviously significantly benefit from categorizing pages. (Uncategorized pages list)
- Ideas for categories:
- Motherboards, CPU families, Sockets, Chipsets, Chips, Developer documentation
- Ideas for categories:
- Missing links to parent pages: many pages are leaves; users must use the browser back button to navigate out. See "Dead end pages"
- Orphaned pages: these pages should be linked better with other pages (list)
- Leading paragraph templates: many are insufficiently detailed or are missing important items
- Paragraphs are too long on many pages, especially the home page and Coreboot-15h
- Default font size is 14px. That is way too small. 17px would be much better
- Visually disproportional sizing on images
- the main offender is "External Flashing" page
- in most cases, images should be resized so that the text on the images is approximately slightly smaller than the body text
- This issue may have to wait for the "Default font size" issue to be fixed first
- Or, set all the image sizes relative to the body text size
- the main offender is "External Flashing" page
- The wiki is supposed to serve two different kinds of users: coreboot-15h developers, and end-users. But the content for them is usually intermixed within a single page.
- the pages should be split into:
- the pages primarily for coreboot-15h developers
- the pages primarily for end-users
- Also, see the next item
- the pages should be split into:
- Pages are too long.
- Content should not be deleted but split across several pages.
- Replace moved content with short excerpts containing the most important points.
- List of long pages by size in bytes
- A better metric is the word count, but the list above is easier to generate
- Pages from 10000 to 20000 bytes are somewhat too long
- Pages over 20000 bytes are a major issue
- Not enough "Overview" pages
- Missing aggregated lists: not enough lists that group/combine items by useful criteria.
An example of such a badly organized page is this prominent page:
- Coreboot-15h (permalink: https://15h.org/index.php?title=Coreboot-15h&oldid=2664)
- That page looks so terrible at first sight it probably immediately turns most people off.
Even the main page could be improved, because:
- The text on it is useful but too verbose and should be shortened.
- The motherboard list takes up excessive space.
- The top table is valuable, because it highlights the most useful links, and being first, reduces distraction from the large motherboard list below.
